  : A really quirky hotel, full of weird and wonderful references to Dante Alighiero. The room was a very good size, with a huge walk in shower. It was funkily decorated in soothing turquoise tones and included a chaise longue and American style mini-fridge. Fabulous sunny balcony overlooking gardens. Extremely comfy bed.I had the best filleto I have ever eaten (compliments to the chef again please!) and the accompanying roast potatoes were heavenly.There was no chair at the 'desktop' area of the room, but staff very kindly found me a metal one that actually blended very well with the decor and I used with cushions from the chaise longue.Free cold drinks and snacks in the minibar were very welcome, as were the interesting coffee and tea selections.Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
  : The hotel is not as close to Santa Maria Novella station as I'd been led to believe and walking with a large suitcase on narrow cobbled side streets for more than 20 minutes in hot sun was not a great start. It would have been good to have a porter show me to my room with suitcases, so I didn't have to wait some considerable time for my bags to be brought up for a change of clothes etc.The 'room service' is actually a 'takeaway' from the restaurant. I would prefer to pay for a tray service than get dressed to go down and collect myself.
